This desk is an example of a piece made from meaningful client-provided wood. My client provided walnut her grandfather harvested from the family’s Missouri home place. Decades later, she asked me to make a desk from that walnut. We collaborated on a design tailored to her work habits. She wanted a clean contemporary look that would showcase the wood’s beauty. European style drawer pulls were cut within the drawer fronts, eliminating distracting hardware. The desk has several features, such as a ventilated computer cabinet, hidden channels for phone cords and other cables, a drawer for an ergonomic keyboard, and customized compartments within drawers.
